How to maintain your water heater

Maintaining your water heater is something you don’t want to overlook. Cared for properly it will last an average of 12 years. It helps to look over your water heater to ensure it is working. Turn off the power and the gas to the water heater. The next step in the process is to partially flush it out. A bucket should be positioned under the valve and turned counterclockwise. This will dispense water from the heater. Then close the valve clockwise to turn it off. Then you just check the pressure and the temperature of the water heater’s relief valve.
